Everything You Need to Know About Apple's Launch – iPhone, Watch, and AirPods

Apple has launched new versions of the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods Pro. Procano provides a quick and easy overview of the most important news – from health features and accident detection to better camera and battery life.

Apple Watch

First up was the new Apple Watch. A total of three new models were launched. Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch Series 8, and Apple Watch Ultra.

Among the new features was a new function that you hope you will never have to use: Accident detection. Accident detection utilizes a new powerful gyroscope and accelerometer, along with other sensors and advanced algorithms to detect a possible car accident. In that case, it will attempt to contact the user and then possibly call emergency services with information about the location, which will also be shared with emergency contacts.

The next generation of the “main line,” Apple Watch Series 8, also introduces new health features, including a temperature sensor. Two to be absolutely precise. One on the inside to measure the user’s temperature, and one facing out to correct for ambient temperature. This facilitates important new advanced women’s health features, among others.

Apple Watch Ultra is designed for those who need a watch that can withstand intense activities in extreme environments. In short. In addition to what was previously mentioned: largest screen, largest battery, titanium case, and specially developed straps for wild activities in water, sand, and snow. Phew!

AirPods Pro

Next, we got to see the new AirPods Pro which introduces significantly improved noise cancellation, a new XS option for the earbuds, as well as volume adjustment on the earbuds themselves. The new case now also has its own speaker in case it slips far down in the bag and you need to “ping” it from your phone. We know many of our users daily use AirPods Pro for phone calls both for personal and work purposes and are delighted with the upgrade.

iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro

Yes, we saved the iPhones for last, just like Apple did during the launch. The iPhone 14 is now launched with an improved dual-camera system that is designed to take even better pictures in the dark, Accident detection, and a new Plus size of 6.7 inches that provides the best battery life ever in an iPhone.

However, the big star was the iPhone 14 Pro (see image above). With an entirely new screen and a powerful triple camera system, this will likely be a device we will see among many of our users in the time to come. The screen is now always on. So with the phone lying on the desk, you can quickly glance down and get your relevant information. The screen is also the brightest on any smartphone, making it perfect for a sunny day. In addition to this, the camera and speaker at the top have been moved into their own section that will be actively used to include information about the current phone call and how far it is to the next exit on the way to the next meeting.

The new camera on the iPhone 14 Pro now has a main lens of 48 MP, as well as improved telephoto, ultra-wide angle lens, and front camera. We can talk up and down about “quad-pixel” equivalent to 2.44 µm, ProRAW, and ƒ/1.78 aperture, but the only thing that matters is the following:
Pictures are set to be significantly better in all situations, especially in medium to dim lighting, as well as much better zoom.

Must also mention that particularly interesting technology was showcased in the form of satellite capability. The technology is very exciting, but the feature will not be available in Norway at launch.
